As you would expect from a swing set company dedicated to children and families, Woodplay places the highest priority on environmentally sound choices. We use only timber that is grown on certified, sustainable tree farms. These highly controlled growing operations protect water quality, safeguard the wildlife habitat, and promote a more efficient use of timber.
The lumber in our playsets comes from mills that meet or exceed many of the standards set forth by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forestry Initiative (FSI) and the New Zealand Environmental Code of Practice for Plantation Forestry.
Our choice of partner providers attests to the sound environmental practices employed in growing and harvesting the wood in Woodplay playsets. Your selection of the Woodplay brand reaffirms our support of sustainable forestry to ensure our earth's resources can meet the needs of present and future generations.
Woodplay manufactures its playsets almost exclusively (approximately 95 percent) from sustainable redwood. We also incorporate sustainable Western Red Cedar and sustainable Cunninghamia. These beautiful woods are best for outdoor playsets because they are strong, dimensionally stable, and resistant to insects and deterioration.
Sustainable wood species grow fast, making them easily renewable. We're proud to do business with suppliers who share our commitment to sustainability.

We recycle aggressively to keep materials out of the waste stream.
Kanban (just-in-time) production techniques maintain our inventories at optimal levels and enable us to minimize energy consumption.
Our water-based stain sealers are environmentally friendly and low in VOCs (volatile organic compounds). They are safe for children, pets, and the air we breathe.
Greenhouse gas reduction is our priority. To reduce CO2 and other emissions for the benefit of public health, we work whenever possible with transit providers who participate in the U.S. EPA SmartWay(SM) Transport Partnership.
